We’re proud to introduce Blade’s new freestyle machine. This action packed C-kite has some serious grunt to propel you to new heights and help take your riding to new levels. At the essence of the design are the Sharp Contoured Wingtips, which effectively minimize the bridle system, making the kite very reactive to user input, but highly stable and forgiving to unwanted forces. Another great combo feature for freestyle and wakestyle riders alike is the ability to give explosive pop, but also continuous pull throughout the trick. This helps with stabilizing yourself throughout the trick and more importantly to offer a controlled and smooth landing.

• Explosive and consistently powerful
• 5 rigid struts for added stability and control
• Designed for high-end performance in all conditions
• Solid construction to withstand extreme crashes
• Bridle reduction wingtips for direct steering

Kite Sizes: 7 / 9 / 11 / 13

RPG Profile – Reliable Power Generator Profile

After the initial explosive pop, the unique profile shape continues delivering consistent power throughout the trick. This enhances stability and control for powered wakestyle tricks.

Turning Axis – Wing Tip Power Turn:

Turning is generated at the wingtip, resulting in continuous and minimal loss of power. This is ideal for big kite loops where the kite’s path of rotation determines kite power efficiency.

5 Struts

A 5 strut design maintains continuous power delivery throughout your jump and ensures kite stability for super loaded tricks.

Mini Bridle System

Arguably one of the shortest bridle systems on any freestyle kite, the system is designed to give exclusive support to the LE without jeopardizing the direct feel one expects in a freestyle kite.

LE Closing Seam

The LE seam is sealed with three layers of stitching, double layered Insignia Tape reinforcement and a final protective Dacron seam!

Valve Reinforcements

Additional valve reinforcements were added to firmly fix the patch to the bladder. One from below and one from above. We also purposely designed a new bladder adhesive to suit the unique requirements of kite construction.

Molded LE Guards

Molded LE guards are lighter, more aerodynamic, and effectively protect the leading edge from all your outrageous wipeouts.

Insignia Tape

We know you like to ride hard. That’s why the Mist has 25% more Insignia Tape in the delicate areas surrounding the LE. You can be confident that this kite will endure even the toughest impacts.

Bridle Attachment Point

Internally constructed, the leading edge has twice as many reinforcement patches. That means LE impact loads and additional protection from the constant wear of abrasion to the ground.

Teijin Techno Force

Our top of the line Techno Force canopy material has been a mainstay of our product line for 4 years and has proven to be superior to anything else on the market.

Dacron 160HPE

Unique Dacron material used for the leading edge, struts and tips which is considerably lighter, but efficiently stronger - thanks to our tried-and-tested, innovative box threading design, which has a more rigid construction and allows for a tighter weave.

MAD 2 Air Flow System

The specially-designed valve pieces on the Trigger’s one-pump system are 100% foolproof. You’ll be pumped up and ready to strap on your board in no time!

What is the difference between the Prime and Mist?

The Prime was a kite built mainly on the ability to unhook with limited force from the kite. This was the main concept behind it and that meant the profiles and AR had to work together and give limited power at all times. The Prime was a great kite for unhooking but did not have enough power to make it more than just a freestyle kite. The Mist's main fundamentals are to make sure there is a lot of power and constant pull at all times, especially when unhooking.  We were able to do this by implementing the new RPG profile that gives the constant pull in throughout the whole window. This helps the rider remain stable and in control throughout the whole trick.

The shape of the Mist is very unique, what makes it look like that and why?

We know most of the power in a kite is generated in the center, so having a high aspect ratio (AR) kite is an advantage in those respects, but at the same time we wanted to make sure it is not super high because this decreases the stability in gusty conditions. That’s why the wingtip becomes drastically narrower. This curve in the wingtip gives the illusion of a small AR, providing quality turning and control characteristics. Also, the drastic curve in the wingtip has enabled us to design a minimal bridle system, which gives outstanding directness.

What was the biggest obstacle you had to overcome when designing the Mist?

The bridle system is always a challenge on C-kites. The bridle’s main purpose is to provide support for the leading edge (LE) and decrease the size of the LE, which translates to a better turning kite. But for C-kites, you would like to have a short bridle system to provide more directness and stability. This year we had a major breakthrough in the design of the unique wingtips, which enabled us to further shorten the bridle system. It’s probably one of the shortest on the market! This combination provides outstanding directness and superb turning characteristics.
